Launched in 2025, URAKAN began its journey as a digital magazine offering a fresh, critical perspective to anyone involved in the art world. Our mission is to highlight various movements within the art world, delve deeper into the latest trends, and spark discussions on the important issues surrounding them.

An integral part of our journey is fostering an environment that supports art writing. By engaging a diverse range of new and experienced writers, we aim to cultivate a culture of art criticism and rich dialogue. These voices bring varied perspectives and expertise, enriching our content and making URAKAN a vibrant tapestry of thoughts and ideas.

URAKAN publishes writing and editorial work developed together with contributors from various cities, including Yogyakarta, Solo, Jakarta, and Tulungagung. Our network continues to grow as new writers and collaborators join us.

Supported by a network of contributors, producers, editors, and advisors, we report first-hand from the field, from current cultural events to in-depth writing on artists, exhibitions, the art market, and other relevant topics.
